day 1 – boston-las vegas-mesquite: Departure from Boston’s Logan Airport to Las Vegas. We will then head out in a northeasterly direction to Mesquite, Nevada and check-in at the beautiful Oasis Resort Golf Resort, Casino & Spa. The remainder of the night is at leisure to familiarize ourselves with our surroundings. This evening, we will all gather for a wonderful ‘Welcome Dinner’ – Southwestern-style! Overnight. (L, D)
day 2 – Las vegas-zion national park-mesquite: After breakfast, we will depart for stunningly beautiful Zion National Park, a dramatic, rugged gorge cut by the Virgin River through multi-colored sandstone, limestone and shale, and located near Springdale, Utah. From the floor of the canyon, we will marvel at the towering rock walls as we journey through this incredible natural wonder aboard an open-air tram. The colors of the fall season are sure to enhance our experience! Return to Mesquite for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
day 3 – grand canyon national park: An early departure this morning, as we visit one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World – the vast and exciting Grand Canyon! Arriving at the Northern Rim, we will have a spectacular view of a wide area of the canyon and the Colorado River flowing through it. From Bright Angel Point, Cape Royal and Point Imperial – the highest point on the canyon rim – there will be incomparable photographic opportunities. Returning to Mesquite, we will all gather together this evening for a delicious evening meal complete with lively Western entertainment. Overnight. (CB, D) Please Note: Grand Canyon tours are for May thru October ONLY. Those touring in March, April and November will spend an entire day in Las Vegas.
day 4 – bryce canyon national park: This morning, we will travel to Bryce Canyon National Park for a full-day tour. This park features some of the most colorful rocks that have been sculptured by erosion. The end results are called "hoodoos". Iron oxides give red, yellow and brown tints to the limestone. The rustic inn in Bryce Canyon will provide a perfect place for a serene lunch (not included). Return to the Oasis Resort for a poolside barbeque and overnight. (B, D)
day 5 – hoover dam-valley of fire: Departing our hotel, we will have a short, scenic drive to the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, where we will get a chance to visit the museum and see this beautiful area created by construction of the Hoover Dam. Next, we will tour magnificent Hoover Dam and learn about its construction and history. Late in the afternoon, Valley of Fire is Nevada's oldest State Park. The rough floor and jagged walls of the park contain brilliant formations of eroded sandstone and sand dunes more than 150 million years old. These features, which are the centerpiece of the park's attractions, often appear to be on fire when reflecting the sun's rays. Return to Las Vegas for some more free time. Dinner and overnight at our hotel. (B, D)
day 6 – Mesquite-las vegas: This morning is at leisure in Mesquite to explore on our own. In the afternoon, we will visit one of the most visual spots in Las Vegas – The Fremont Street Experience! This canopied four blocks of the downtown is an eclectic collection of shops, boutiques, 10 casino hotels, 41 restaurants and more, surrounding by the brilliance of 2.1 million neon lights, and the music and special effects of 208 speakers generating 540,000 watts. Return to the Oasis Resort for dinner and overnight. (B, D)
day 7 – st. george-snow canyon: Today, we will again cross into Utah for a visit to St. George, where we will be hosted on a tour of the local area and the park. Then, we will tour Snow Canyon, tucked away in the hills west of St. George, and flanked by the Red Mountains and the White Hills. Dinner at the famous Denny’s Wigwam nightspot in Kanab. Return to Oasis Resort for overnight. (B, D)
day 8 – mesquite-las vegas-boston: After hotel check-out, we will transfer to the Las Vegas Airport where we will board our return flight to Boston. (B)
