Durgan Travel Service has been serving the Group Travel Community in the New England area for over 30 years, initially as the "Durgan Group" at Crimson Travel Service in October of 1969. Crimson Travel was New England's largest tour company, and was later bought by Thomas Cook Travel. We maintained our affiliation with Thomas Cook until American Express bought them in 1994. In March of 1995, we spun off our operation from American Express/Thomas Cook and opened our current office in Stoneham, Massachusetts as Durgan Travel Service.
We are a full-service travel agency and tour company, and can provide excellent rates on all domestic and international cruise lines. Our rapid growth however, is due to the incredibly priced European tours that we have developed over the last 10 years. Our tour volume is such that we have been the number one producer for Alitalia Airlines out of the Boston gateway, and in the Top Three with Swiss from Boston as well.
In 1998, Durgan Travel Service won the "lo Leonardo Internazionale Award" from the Italian Government for our contribution with travel to Italy. We were one of just three American companies, and only thirteen worldwide! On March 20, 2001, we received the "Golden Wings Award" from Alitalia Airlines. This award is in appreciation of the high amount of business we are producing with Alitalia, and in recognition of the quality of our tour operation.
We have our own Graphic Arts Department that creates personalized promotional flyer/reservation forms for your group promotion, and we provide you with an accounting system and supplies to assist in handling reservations. We will mail out a confirmation of deposits with a bill for final payment, and will also mail all final tour documents directly to tour participants if you wish. Our local representative will work closely with you to arrange for your promotional material, and will be with you every step of the way to ensure your success.
Durgan Travel Service features all or mostly-inclusive European vacations at super low group rates. Our European tour programs are available from most-every major airport throughout the country on a domestic carrier feeding into an international flight from the East Coast. Note that we can customize a tour to your exact specifications as well.
